By planting these inoculated 4 year old walnut truffle inoculated trees in well-draining, calcareous soil and providing proper care and maintenance, you can cultivate your own truffle-producing trees. However, it’s important to note that truffle cultivation is a long-term investment, requiring patience and dedication. Truffle production typically begins 5-8 years after planting, with yields increasing as the trees mature. This walnut tree is already 4 years old, however propogation after planting can take a from 5-8 years for the mycilium to be able to spread and take full effect to produce Black Périgord truffles within the base and the roots of the truffle inoculated Hazelnut tree.
