Vancouver Island's Farm Corporate Retreat Venue

The Truffle Farm is a corporate retreat venue in Parksville on Vancouver Island's east coast. The property is a working truffle farm with an air-conditioned Truffle Barn for meetings and dining, on-site accommodation in The Truffle Hut, and a full schedule of farm experiences for groups of 10 to 60. Multi-day retreats combine guided tours, hands-on activities, and farm-to-table meals featuring Black Périgord Truffles grown on-site.

A Retreat That Changes the Conversation

The best corporate retreats take people out of the patterns that formed in the office. A new setting changes how teams think, talk, and relate. The Truffle Farm does this without resorting to trust falls or ropes courses.

Canada's first truffle farm has operated at 420 Lowrys Road in Parksville since 1999. Virginia and Peter run the property. Virginia grows flowers, coordinates events, and leads floral workshops. Peter guides truffle plantation tours. Caesar the Lagotto Romagnolo is the truffle hunter. Every retreat day is built around what this farm actually produces, and shared experiences that stay with teams long after the retreat ends.

Retreat Activities

Shared Experiences That Build Teams

Every activity at The Truffle Farm is collaborative by design. Cooking classes require people to work together: assign tasks, communicate, taste and adjust. Farm tours invite teams to slow down and pay attention to something outside their industry.

Virginia's floral workshops give teams a creative challenge with a tangible result. Wine tastings with truffle pairings create shared vocabulary and shared memory. These are the activities people talk about in the weeks after the retreat.

  • Hands-on truffle cooking class with fresh pasta and truffle dishes
  • Guided Truffle Plantation tour with Peter
  • Truffle hunting demonstration with Caesar the Lagotto Romagnolo
  • Floral workshop with Virginia using farm-grown flowers
  • Guided wine tasting with chef-crafted truffle pairings

Farm-to-Table

Long Table Dinners: The Retreat Anchor

Long table dinners are the heart of a Truffle Farm retreat. Groups gather at a shared table in the Truffle Barn. Menus are 3 to 5 courses featuring Black Périgord Truffles grown on-site, with wine pairings. Family-style service keeps the table active.

Dinner conversations at a long table on a working farm are different from conversations at a hotel restaurant. The setting earns that. Peter and Virginia are often present, not as caterers, but as farmers sharing the harvest.

  • 3 to 5 course truffle-infused menus
  • Wine pairings throughout
  • Family-style long table seating
  • Up to 60 guests in the Truffle Barn

Every retreat is different. Virginia works directly with event leads to design a schedule that fits your group's goals and timeline. A half-day off-site looks different from a two-day immersive retreat. Both are possible here.
