The Truffle Farm in Parksville: Featured in Vancouver is Awesome!
We’re Featured in Vancouver Is Awesome!
We are so excited to share that The Truffle Farm has been featured in a recent Vancouver Is Awesome travel article highlighting the best of Parksville-Qualicum Beach. It’s always wonderful to see our little farm recognized alongside the incredible community of makers and growers on Vancouver Island.
A Little About Us
The Truffle Farm is located on Lowrys Road in Parksville, B.C., and we are proud to be Canada’s first producers of Black Perigord Truffles. What started as a retirement dream for Betty and Grant Duckett back in 1999 has grown into a one-of-a-kind farm experience that our family continues to nurture today. Our Garry Oak and Hazelnut trees are scientifically inoculated with truffle spores right here on the farm, and our beloved Lagotto Romagnolo dogs help us hunt the truffles when they’re ready to harvest.
What We Do
We love building community through unique truffle experiences. Throughout the year, we host workshops, guided tours, tasting events, and cooking classes in our Activity Barn. From our popular Truffle and Brisket evenings to seasonal floral wreath workshops and even Puppy Yoga with our Lagotto puppies, there’s always something happening at the farm. We also offer private tasting events and farm meals for those looking for something special. Visitors can even stay overnight at The Truffle Hut, our cozy barn loft retreat overlooking the meadow and Mount Arrowsmith.
What We Sell
You can find a variety of truffle products in our on-farm shop and online store, including:
- Fresh Black Perigord Truffles (in season)
- Truffle-infused oils, honey, sauces, and seasonings
- Truffle cheese and truffle mustard made in collaboration with local producers like Yellow Deer Mustard
- Truffle-inoculated trees so you can try growing your own
- Seasonal floral arrangements and wreaths crafted by our certified florists
- Produce, meat, and flowers from the farm
We also breed Lagotto Romagnolo puppies, Canada’s first line of this incredible Italian truffle-hunting breed. Our Lagottos go on to become truffle hunters, therapy dogs, service dogs, and wonderful family companions.
